Young Voices 2024
It was an exciting end to last half term when some of our children attended Sheffield Arena on Friday 10th February to sing and dance their hearts out at one of the ‘largest children’s choir concerts’ in the world. The children all attended an afterschool club during the Autumn Term with Miss Staton and Mrs Whitehead to learn and practise the songs. All of our staff, who supported with the Young Voices Concert, are incredibly proud of your amazing children. What fantastic behaviour, enthusiasm, and of course, singing!
Mrs Hartley, who attended the concert with the school, said: "It was a fantastic evening joining the world's biggest choir where the children were impeccably behaved and represented Hensall School brilliantly. They, along with thousands of other children from across the county, sung and danced along to a great medley of tunes. It was an experience like no other! It was great looking out for parents in the crowds".
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the children and staff for their dedication and hard work in managing the immense amount of songs that they had to learn. Thank you also to the parents for attending the concert and indeed for supporting the children with all the after-school rehearsals that they had committed to. What a brilliant time we all have had!
Here are some quotes from some of our singers:
"I think it was amazing as it was my first time" - Ella.
"It was like a pantomine - I loved the singing, it was so fun!" - Keaton.
"It was really good because you got to do a massive Mexican wave and the lights were shining on people" - Lily.
"I liked being with my friends and the music" - Lacey.
"I really liked watching the special acts and joining in with the dances" - Andorra.
