Family Financial Support

Cost of Living Support

If you’re struggling to pay for food and other essentials, there are local schemes and organisations in North Yorkshire which may be able to help or point you in the right direction. You’ll find information about emergency financial support, managing debt, benefit entitlement, energy bills and staying connected all in one place at www.northyorks.gov.uk/costofliving

North Yorkshire Council’s cost of living web page also has information about pension credit, schemes to help families and local community-based support including Warm Welcome spaces as well as advice on staying safe and well.

What is FEAST?

You may have heard about support in the school holidays for families who are eligible for Free School Meals or who have children with SEND needs.  There is lots of information on this link about the scheme and what's available in our local area.

Our Pastoral Support Worker Mrs Whitehead or Admin Officer Karen James can help too if you have any questions.

NHS Healthy Start

Did you know there is help available from the NHS called 'Healthy Start' to provide financial support to buy food and milk. The conditions are related to families eligible for Universal Credit:

You can apply online if:

  • you’re more than 10 weeks pregnant or have at least one child under 4 years old
  • your family’s monthly ‘take-home pay’ (also called ‘earned income’) is £408 or less from employment
