Work through the PowerPoint slideshow for each day of learning. Throughout the presentations, you will find examples of Fluency, Reasoning and Problem solving questions. Complete the Fluency sheets first, remembering to choose the correct chilli level which you would like to complete. The reasoning sheets to accompany the fluency sheets will be completed the next day. Remember to please use the answer sheets to mark your answers!
This week, we will be continuing with multiplication and division. Year 4's will continue to multiply and divide numbers by a certain amount, continuing with the 9's before moving onto the 7's. Year 5's you will be multiplying by 10, 100 & 1000 before progressing onto looking at different multiples later in the week. Again, please just choose the chilli sheet that you would like to complete and mark your answers at the end.
Day 2- Tuesday
Welcome to day 2 of our maths learning for this week. Today, you will be starting a new unit of work called 'Multiplying and Dividing by 7'. I would like you to look through the PowerPoint as this will provide you with example questions for today's work. Once completed, just choose ONE chilli sheet (like we do in school) and complete it. When you have finished, mark your answers using the attached answers. After this, pleaee complete the fluency extension sheet attached below.
Today, you will be starting a new unit of work called 'Multiples'. This will involve you rehearsing all of the times tables and applying your knowledge to the questions. Today, I would like you to start by looking through the PowerPoint and looking through the example questions. Once you have done this, please choose just ONE chilli sheet to complete and then mark your answers after. Finally, please complete the fluency extension sheet below.
Day 1- Monday
Firstly, I would like you to choose the year group that applies to you. I would then like you to start by looking at the PowerPoint before starting your questions. Then, choose your chilli and complete one fluency sheet. (marking your answers once finished). Once you have completed this, you will have an extension sheet to complete also. Year 4's you can just choose one sheet to complete, or you can complete all 3 if you want too! Year 5's you have a BBC bitesize link to help you out!
This week, we are continuing with the division work. We will be starting with dividing by 10 & 100, so please choose the chilli that best applies to you. Please record the answers on the sheet or into your blue maths book.
Today, I would like you to look through the PowerPoint questions before completing the reasoning sheet. I would like you to complete ALL of the reasoning and problem solving questions. Please remember to give a good detailed answer when a question asks you to 'Prove it' or 'Explain how you know'. After you have completed this, I would like you to complete the extension activity. When using times table rock stars, please focus on the 9 times tables for the rest of this week. Good luck!
Today, I would like you to look through the PowerPoint questions before starting the reasoning and problem solving sheet. After you have done this, please complete ALL of the reasoning and problem solving questions, either on the sheet or into your blue maths book. Once you have completed this, please complete the extension sheet which is recapping what you have learnt prior to christmas and over the last two weeks. Good luck!
Day 3- Wednesday
Welcome to day 3 of our maths learning for this week. Firstly, I would like you to choose the year group that applies to you. I would then like you to look at the fluency questions on the PowerPoint and then complete the first fluency sheet. Once you have completed this, you need to complete the fluency extension activities. The reasoning tasks will follow on Thursday.
Day 2- Tuesday
Yesterday, you were dividing different numbers by 10. The children in school were brilliant at this and understood it really well. I have seen some examples of this from the children at home and you were super too! Today, you will all be progressing onto dividing numbers by 100. Remember to use a written method to help with your working out!
I have uploaded 2 fluency activities and 1 reasoning activity. I would like you to complete 1 fluency and 1 reasoning activity. This can be recorded into your blue maths book. Good luck!
Day 1- Monday
Today, I would like both year groups to complete the same learning. As this is a new unit of work, I would like the Year 5 children to consolidate their understanding of dividing by 10 and 100. We would've been looking at this together in class this week, so you will all find this useful!
Please choose the correct chilli for you and then complete 4 questions (the first row down the page) on each of the fluency and reasoning sheets.
This week we are completing work on dividing a different range of numbers. This will include dividing 2, 3 or 4 digit numbers. Please select the chilli that you would like to complete and record the answers on the sheet or in your blue maths book.
Day 3- Friday
