About Rowan Class - Years 3 & 4

Welcome to Rowan Class!

In Rowan Class we are passionate that every child should reach their potential in a challenging, enjoyable and respectful environment. Children are encouraged to always challenge themselves, safe in the knowledge that they will be supported by their peers and our wonderful, dedicated staff. Our aim is to provide the opportunities and the strategies necessary for each child to make good progress and reach their own individual learning targets. Children are always encouraged to demonstrate our school values, including to be ‘Ready, Respectful and Safe’ at all times.

Mrs Hutchinson teaches Rowan Class, with Miss Harrison supporting in class as the Teaching Assistant. Children are given opportunities to learn in a variety of ways including whole class discussion, small groups, individual learning and intervention sessions, in order to cater for all learning styles and personalise every child’s learning. We understand the importance of working as a team in Rowan class and know that success comes from building excellent relationships with the children and their families.

We aim to build on the subject knowledge obtained in Oak Class to further enhance every child's learning experience through practical learning wherever possible. We also begin to place more focus on increasing the children’s independence and responsibility, through developing a sense of pride and achievement in the work that they produce. We work hard to help children increase their emotional resilience and general life skills in order to help them make their next steps on their learning journey with confidence.
