Friday 6th November 2020
The children all had a fantastic dress-up day on Friday. We completed lots of Autumnal, Halloween and Bonfire Night activities throughout the day and it was lovely to see so many fantastic outfits throughout school. Well done to the children who brought in such amazing calved pumpkins, they all looked super! Well done to Isaac, Jessica D and Jacob who were judged as the top three from our class by Mrs Clayton. It was lovely to have a socially distanced gathering with all the children in the different bubbles outside in the afternoon. Well done to Daisy Falkingham who was our first Star of the Week for this half term, well done!
Below are some amazing plastic models which the children have made at home independently. They have used items which would normally be recycled or put in the bin to create plastic models. This term, we have been researching our planet and the damage that plastic is doing to our environments. We have looked at plastic pollution in our oceans and how this is harming our marine life. Like the children, I am really proud of these models and we even showed them to Mrs Clayton this afternoon. Well done to all and enjoy a well earnt half term break!
Our Special Places!
Well what an extremely exciting week we have had in Beech Class this week! WE NOW HAVE OUR VERY OWN CLASS PETS....... 4 (YES FOUR) GERBILS! Mr Spetch couldn't split them up from each other, so arrived at school on Tuesday with not one, not two, not three but four FEMALE Gerbils. The children are very excited to have our own class pets and can't wait to start cleaning, feeding and looking after them. We have completed lots of work about Gerbils and have designed our own 'How to care for Gerbils' posters. Throughout the week, we have also completed some great science lessons about life cycles and started our new class book 'Here We Are'. As you can see from the photos below, we have started our inter-house sports day preparations with both Mr Spetch and Mr Holt. Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday.
Welcome Back Everyone!
We have had a super three days back in school. The children have followed our guidelines and adapted really well to our new routines. Although it is difficult not being able to see friends from other classes, we have played really well together and completed some fabulous work. This week, we have all been getting to know each other more, learning our new routines and exploring our new classroom (which the children really like!). We had a great PE lesson on Friday morning with Mr Holt. Our sport for this term is going to be Netball. We learnt the skills of chest pass, movement and team work. I am really looking forward to our first full week back in school next week and hope you all have a lovely weekend! Mr Spetch
